How Top Asia Select selects businesses for this guide
We research each provider independently, review customer feedback across multiple platforms, and assess service quality, transparency, and track record. Businesses do not pay to appear in this editorial guide — though some hold a paid listing or featured placement on Top Asia Select, which is disclosed where relevant.

The 2026 interior design landscape
Singapore has over 1,000 registered interior design firms. For most homeowners, this creates genuine decision paralysis — the stakes of choosing poorly are high, and the signals that distinguish a good firm from a mediocre one are not obvious from portfolio photographs alone.
In 2026, the most important factors are not purely aesthetic. Portfolio quality matters, but so does financial transparency, deposit protection, and whether the firm's project management process actually protects the homeowner when things do not go exactly to plan. This guide covers seven firms selected on all of these criteria — not just the quality of their renders.
What makes a trustworthy firm in 2026 — the three pillars
Before shortlisting any firm, understand the three financial and regulatory protection mechanisms that separate trustworthy firms from the rest:
1. CaseTrust-RCMA accreditation Interior Designers
CaseTrust-RCMA accreditation from the Consumers Association of Singapore requires the firm to purchase a deposit performance bond — meaning your deposit is legally protected if the company closes down or abandons the project. It also commits the firm to fair contract terms and a defined dispute resolution process. Verify accreditation directly on the CaseTrust website before signing — do not accept a firm's verbal claim.
2. HomePay escrow
HomePay is an escrow-based payment platform increasingly used by Singapore ID firms in 2026. Rather than paying the firm directly, your renovation payments sit in a secure escrow account and are released only when you approve each completed milestone in the HomePay app — for example, confirming hacking is complete before the carpentry payment is released. This means your money is protected at every stage, not just at the deposit level. Credit card payments are accepted, allowing you to earn rewards or cashback on a significant spend.
3. HDB Directory of Renovation Contractors (DRC)
If you are renovating an HDB flat, any works requiring a permit must be carried out by a contractor listed on HDB's Directory of Renovation Contractors. This applies to the firm's appointed renovation contractor — not to specialist sub-contractors (electricians and plumbers hold separate EMA and PUB licences respectively). Verify your contractor's DRC registration at the HDB website before works begin. Working with an unlicensed contractor can result in fines of up to SGD 5,000 and mandatory reinstatement of unauthorised works.
Not every firm on this list holds all three. Where a firm does not hold CaseTrust accreditation, we note what alternative protection is available.

⭐ Featured Partner
Website: thedesignfactory.studio | Commercial relationship disclosed: The Design Factory is a Top Asia Select featured partner.
The Design Factory has been operating in Singapore for over 10 years with 500+ completed projects across HDB, condominium, landed, and commercial spaces. Selected as our featured partner for their no-pressure sales approach, transparent pricing, and consistent on-time delivery track record.
Their process begins with lifestyle mapping — understanding how the homeowner actually uses their space before any design concept is produced. Carpentry quality and on-time execution are consistent strengths across their completed project portfolio.
• Deposit protection: HomePay escrow as standard option — funds held in escrow, released progressively by milestone, credit card accepted
• HDB works: via HDB-licensed DRC-registered renovation contractors — ask TDF to confirm their contractor's DRC number before works begin
• Note: The Design Factory is not currently CaseTrust-RCMA accredited — HomePay provides the deposit protection alternative
• Portfolio strengths: Japandi, warm minimalist, contemporary — consistent across HDB, condo, and commercial
• Best for: Homeowners wanting design-led renovation without sales pressure; busy professionals needing full project management; any budget level
• Minimum project: SGD 20,000
Website: reztnrelax.com
One of Singapore's most credentialed interior design firms. Operating since 2000 with over 20,000 homeowners served, Rezt+Relax holds CaseTrust-RCMA, ISO, and SQC certification. Their CaseTrust performance bond means your deposit is legally protected if the firm closes or defaults.
Their portfolio spans contemporary, Japandi, and modern classic aesthetics across HDB BTO, resale, and condo renovations. At this scale, they have seen virtually every Singapore flat type — which translates to reliable project management for standard renovation scopes.
• Deposit protection: CaseTrust-RCMA performance bond — full deposit legally protected
• Best for: Homeowners for whom CaseTrust accreditation is a firm requirement; those wanting the confidence of a highly credentialed, large-scale firm
• Consideration: confirm your dedicated point of contact before signing — at this scale, personal attention can vary between designers
Website: starryhomestead.com
CaseTrust-RCMA accredited with a strong reputation specifically for client communication throughout the renovation process. In an industry where homeowners frequently feel left in the dark during active works, consistent communication is Starry Homestead's most clearly differentiated strength — repeatedly highlighted across independent review platforms.
• Deposit protection: CaseTrust-RCMA performance bond
• Best for: First-time renovators who want regular project updates and clear communication; resale HDB where project complexity and unexpected conditions are more likely
Website: spacefactor.com.sg
Space Factor has built their reputation on honest project management and transparent pricing. They insist on detailed in-person consultation before any quotation — reducing misunderstandings and scope creep. Homeowner feedback consistently highlights transparency and the absence of hidden charges as their primary differentiators.
• Best for: First-time renovators who value clear communication and predictable costs; those who want a reliable, no-surprises renovation over design boldness
• Deposit protection: verify directly with firm before signing
Website: theinteriorlab.com.sg
One of the few Singapore ID firms with a genuinely strong and recognisable design identity. Known for bold architectural statements — dark painted ceilings, heavy material textures, raw finishes — and in 2026 the Modern Farmhouse and atmospheric Japandi directions. Multiple show flat design credits. Their portfolio is more design-forward than most firms on this list, which is their strength for homeowners with a clear aesthetic direction.
• Best for: Homeowners who want a strong design point of view; condo and landed residential where design ambition is the priority
• Consideration: review their portfolio carefully before consulting — their bold aesthetic is not universally appealing and that is intentional
• Deposit protection: verify directly with firm before signing
Website: elpisinterior.com.sg
Known for thoughtful, site-specific design that responds to the actual conditions of each project rather than applying a standard template. Spaces feel specifically considered for the people who live in them. A smaller firm than some others on this list — which means more personal designer involvement but requires the homeowner to be more engaged in the design process.
• Best for: Homeowners who want something bespoke and non-templated; those who enjoy being actively involved in the design process
• Deposit protection: verify directly with firm before signing
Website: fuseconcept.com.sg
CaseTrust accredited with a consistent track record in both HDB and condo renovation at mid-range budget levels. Their contemporary portfolio balances aesthetics and function without polarising design choices — well-suited to homeowners who want a well-executed contemporary home. Project management is consistently rated positively.
• Deposit protection: CaseTrust accredited
• Best for: Mid-budget HDB and condo renovations where reliable execution and deposit protection matter equally
A note on longevity
In an industry with high turnover — where new boutique firms launch regularly and some close within 2–3 years — firms that have operated continuously through Singapore's various economic cycles offer a level of structural stability that newer firms cannot match. When committing SGD 60,000–150,000 to a renovation project, a firm's track record of staying in business is a meaningful signal alongside portfolio quality and accreditation. Several firms on this list have operated for 10–25 years; that continuity matters.
